I sent our cat to skateboard lessons and somehow he came back cooler than me, which is saying a lot for an alien with great hair. The instructors didn’t even flinch when I explained the cat’s “snack habits,” and now he can ollie and glare with confidence. Would recommend—especially if you’re trying to bond with your pet before he inevitably betrays you.

I signed the Gremlins up for a group lesson thinking it would be a nice, calm bonding activity, and wow was I optimistic. Shockingly, the coaches handled the screaming, the shredding, and the attempted ramp takeover with total professionalism. No bright lights, no water near the ramps, and strict rules were enforced—thank goodness. Everyone learned to skate, nothing caught on fire, and I still have all my friends.

I signed up the kid next door because honestly, I was worried he’d take us apart again if he didn’t burn off some energy. Turns out skate lessons are great for channeling creative intensity into something slightly less terrifying. He learned to ride, I kept all my limbs, and nobody got strapped to a rocket.
